Unlike artists who paint \u003cem\u003efrom memory\u003c\/em\u003e of dreams, I paint what I am actually seeing as it happens, in real time. My diagnosis is documented and verified; this isn't metaphor. The condition means my perception of the world carries the quality of dream — heightened, slightly unreal, charged with meaning.
