I start with the thought and the face changes as I paint, almost dictated by the canvas texture. This is why I very rarely make preparatory sketches. I find they do not transfer well, almost like it goes from sincere to insincere.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI rather go direct to the canvas, and let the paint dictate where I go. Each canvas, I feel, seems to have a mind of its own and its best to start a painting by listening to it. Then the painting gets to the point where I can see a shape that dictates an expression. The story begins in my head and I carry on painting accenting the emotion I saw swirling in the paint originally. I keep painting, keep accenting the emotion and then, when I feel I have achieved that, I try and stop.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe giclee fine art prints are done by specialist fine art printers.
