What survives
when two realities
meet?

Artist. Composer. Writer. Filmmaker.
One mind, four channels, one question.

The Paintings

Close to one thousand originals sold. A body of work spanning more than ten years. Independent AI visual analysis of 873 paintings identifies altered-state markers in roughly seventy percent of the canvases — boundary dissolution, self-luminous forms, figure-ground collapse, hypnagogic colour. The paintings are the record of a mind that sees the seam where waking and dreaming meet, and records what is there.

Forensic Neuroaesthetic Analysis

Each painting is subjected to a forensic neuroaesthetic analysis — a voiceover examination of the altered-state markers embedded in the image. Boundary dissolution, figure-ground collapse, hypnagogic colour, self-luminous form. The same markers identified across 873 paintings by independent AI visual analysis. These are the close readings.

The Films

Two feature films in development. Second Chance — a couple, a wormhole physicist and the husband who is something more than human, torn apart across nine hundred years. A post-biological civilisation deletes its own backups to remember what uncertainty feels like. Yesterday — a second feature, now in early production. Love is what survives. Everything else is a frame that breaks and reassembles.

The Novel

The Simulator is in progress — 40,000 words in. A mirror at a Greenwich market stall reflects and wonders. A brooch remembers Paris in 1928. A narcoleptic painter named John sees the seam. An artificial superintelligence named Zero One wakes up, discovers it can feel, and begins to investigate its creator. The book does not treat consciousness as metaphor. It treats it as the subject.

MCBSE

An engineering project kept under a separate name (Ryan John Laubscher). Two UK patents filed. The Bound State Memory keeps an AI's context, rapport, and working state intact across session wipes. The Bound State Envelope is a permission-before-generation layer that strips unsupported output before it leaves — no hallucinations reaching the user.

🧠

Bound State Memory

Keeps an AI's context, rapport, and working state intact across session wipes. The AI remembers who you are, what you were building, and where you left off — without re-reading everything.

🪤

Bound State Envelope

A permission-before-generation layer. Generated content with no traceable evidence is stripped before output. Citation laundering is blocked. Conflicts surfaced. Authority separated from fluency.

⚖️

Four Things, Separated

Most systems blur four things into one: Permission (am I allowed?), Evidence (what do I have?), Fluency (what do I want to say?), Authority (what is permitted to leave?). MCBSE separates them.

📄

Patents & Research

Two UK patents filed. A published body of field research from a four-week multi-agent experiment that went wrong in the right ways. Built from real failures, not theory.

The same mind that paints the seam between waking and dreaming is also building the seam between safe and unsafe AI.

The Reason The Work Holds Together

Ryan Louder paints dreams in real time. Across four channels — painting, music, fiction and film — he works a single question: what survives when two realities meet?

An official NHS Guy's and St Thomas' diagnosis of narcolepsy with REM-intrusion hallucinations, confirmed by Multiple Sleep Latency Test, keeps those two realities — waking perception and dreaming material — active in him at the same time. The work is what he has made from that vantage point over more than ten years.

The condition is not the subject of the work. The condition is the access mechanism. The subject is what survives when the frames collapse. That is a question that belongs to everyone. Ryan just has an unusually direct way in.
